RAMS

It is commonly considered that the figures are not accurate, however these figures are considered the industry standard and are equally inaccurate across the radio sector. The table below relates the audience 7 day, Monday to Friday figures, from the previous diary as well as the previous year. The large urban fieldwork for this sixth release wave of 2011 was conducted in 2 parts: the first part from the end of August to the third week of October 2011, and the second from the third week of October to mid-December 2011. The small urban/rural fieldwork for this release was conducted from mid-January to the end of June 2011.

Radio Audience Measurement Explained...

The Radio Audience Measurement survey is conducted every six weeks by SAARF, and combines data from previous surveys in a rolling average. This is the first time SAARF have included the 15+ age group and the small town rural sample within the diary. The core of how SAARF do this research is by making use of diary keepers per household, and in some instances, various diary keepers within each household where diary keepers record their radio listening habits in exchange for a small gift from SAARF. The measurement relates to adults who are considered those 15 years and older.
